Schwarzenegger on split: 'We both love each other'

LOS ANGELES — At times, the marriage of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver looked like a fairy tale come true. But the public record is replete with problems that would strain any union, and recent glimpses into their lives suggested something amiss with a couple who often waxed publicly about their love for one another.

Don't miss these Entertainment stories 'Glee' vs. Durbin: Who covered Journey better? "Idol" contestant James Durbin took on the Journey hit "Don't Stop Believin,' " a tune that the kids of "Glee" have also rocked on Fox.

Harsh criticism fuels Haley's comeback on 'Idol' Rob continues march to 'Survivor' victory Trump reveals his hair care secrets 'Teen Mom' Amber loses custody of daughter

Since his term as California governor ended in early January, Schwarzenegger has hopscotched around the world, his wife nowhere in sight. Shriver posted three Twitter updates on April 26, their 25th wedding anniversary, without mentioning the milestone.

On Monday, they announced they were separating. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together," they said in a brief statement that could signal a private breakup rather than a public court battle.

Story: Schwarzenegger, Shriver split after 25 years

On Tuesday, in his first public comments since the announcement, Schwarzenegger thanked friends and family for an outpouring of support.

"We both love each other very much," Schwarzenegger said at a Los Angeles event marking Israeli independence. "We are taking one day at a time." He also said he had spoken to Shriver earlier in the day, adding that "we're blessed with four extraordinary children."

If Schwarzenegger, 63, appeared confident about the future since exiting politics, cutting movie deals and fashioning himself as a global spokesman for green energy, Shriver, 55, known for her confidence, seemed unsettled.

Shriver appears without a wedding ring in videos posted recently on YouTube and talks about stress in her life, the weight of expectations and the search for faith in a troubled world.

"It is so stressful to not know what you're doing next," she says grimly in one online video posted in March.

Biting wit
Schwarzenegger has a temper and a biting wit, and there were occasional spats behind the scenes in their Sacramento days, but the marriage unspooled with a minimum of public drama. Shriver moved quietly out of the couple's gated estate a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, but they remain on speaking terms and had brunch with their children on Mother's Day.

In their statement, they said they would live apart, "work on the future of our relationship" and continue to parent their four children — Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. The only word from the family Tuesday came in a tweet from Patrick: "Small speed bump ... luckily we own (H)ummers, we will cruise right over it. All will be okay."

Video: Schwarzenegger on split: ‘We both love each other’ (on this page)

The announcement came just over 25 years after the couple wed on a spring day on Cape Cod. They seemed to have little in common aside from celebrity and a hunger for success: a Republican bodybuilder-actor with a history of womanizing, and a princess of the Kennedy clan who was a rising network newscaster.

Shriver, who lost two uncles to assassins' bullets, never wanted her husband to enter politics, but supported him when he did. After Schwarzenegger won a second term. In 2006, they kissed on stage at a celebration rally as a blizzard of balloons fell around them and their children.

They entered their marriage with separate fortunes and legacies, and the script for whether and how they end that union largely depends on decisions they've already made.

They said in their statement they have not filed formal court papers. It is unknown whether the pair have any agreement that would divide up their assets, which include their secluded estate in Los Angeles and a home near the coast in Malibu.

Video: Editor: Schwarzenegger-Shriver split a surprise (on this page)

Economic disclosure forms filed when Schwarzenegger left as California governor in January show he has interests in at least eight entities worth $1 million or more. An exact tally of his wealth is impossible to calculate, although the forms show the "Terminator" star still retains rights to intellectual property from his days as a fitness guru and movie star.

Shriver's holdings are more modest, but are listed in the disclosure as being worth more than $1 million. She is a member of the Kennedy family and is a beneficiary of some of its assets, and also owns rights and royalties from her work as an author, the filings show.

Shriver maintained her own identity when her husband entered politics, though she gave up her job at NBC. (Msnbc.com is a joint venture between NBC Universal and Microsoft.) Their union was often tested in Sacramento, where the former action star contended with a rough seven years of legislative gridlock, a budget crisis and lingering questions about his fidelity.

'Behaved badly'
Shriver stood by her husband during his 2003 gubernatorial campaign after the Los Angeles Times reported accusations that he had a history of groping women. Schwarzenegger later said he "behaved badly sometimes."

In 2006, Schwarzenegger settled a libel lawsuit with a former late-night British TV personality who claimed she was groped by the Hollywood actor during a 2000 interview and later defamed by his aides during the 2003 campaign. In 2004, a judge dismissed a similar libel lawsuit filed against Schwarzenegger by Rhonda Miller, who accused him of groping her.

While Schwarzenegger was governor, Shriver and their children never moved to Sacramento, preferring their homes in the Los Angeles area. Schwarzenegger commuted by private jet between his family and the state capital.

Shriver often lamented the loss of her TV job. More recently, she has struggled with the death of her father, Peace Corps founder and former vice presidential candidate Sargent Shriver, in January.

A separation doesn't always signal a divorce is imminent, said Charlotte Goldberg, a family law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

"Some people separate in order to try to work things out, to see if they can reconcile and come back together," Goldberg said.

That was the case for talk show host Larry King and his wife, Shawn, who kicked off a bitter divorce struggle last year before deciding to stay together. Similarly, actors David Arquette and Courtney Cox announced last year they were separating, but have yet to file any formal paperwork to make their split official.

Deal looming?
Steve Mindel, a Los Angeles family law attorney with more than 25 years of experience, said the fact that the pair issued a statement rather than filing court papers signals they may be working toward a deal that will keep most of the details of their breakup private. Several celebrities have recently taken that course, including singer Christina Aguilera and comedian George Lopez.

Both of their breakups were announced through publicists before any paperwork was filed, and neither case produced acidic court filings that have become the hallmark of other stars' breakups.

Unless Schwarzenegger and Shriver have a property agreement, in California any assets they accrued throughout the marriage are split 50/50. Once they separate, their earnings become their own.

That may be significant for Schwarzenegger, who has said he hopes to revive the film career he placed on hold when he was elected governor in 2003. Shriver has said she doesn't foresee a return to on-camera journalism.

As for their two youngest children, Goldberg said they're old enough that they'll likely have some say in any custody agreement.

She and Mindel said the couple seemed to be handling the announcement of their split with class.

"They've gone through a lot together," Goldberg said. "Sometimes marriages fail even after a long period of time."

The Associated Press and NBC News contributed to this report.

Ferrell dishes on smooch with Reilly

Lakers fans were no doubt disappointed by Sunday's playoff-ending loss to the Mavericks, but thanks to funnyman Will Ferrell and his two-time co-star John C. Riley, at least half of them had something to smile about.

The actor jokes with Chelsea about his recent Kiss Cam experience with actor John C. Reilly and kicking his brother out of his house.

During a Monday night stop on “Chelsea Lately,” Ferrell explained the “Kiss Cam” moment that saved the day.

“Just a typical Laker game for me,” Ferrell deadpanned when faced with the footage of himself smooching pal Reilly on the arena's screen. “They started doing the Kiss Cam thing … and John said, ‘If the camera gets on us, why don’t we take a bite of our sandwiches and then kiss.’ And I didn’t even bat an eye. I said, ‘OK. Bite of the sandwich first, then kiss? Got it.’ Then sure enough, we’re on.”

The crowd’s reaction?

“Half the crowd erupted in joy, and the other half vomited.”

Bristol Palin says she had corrective jaw surgery

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Bristol Palin admits her recent change in appearance was due to a procedure — but not plastic surgery.

The 20-year-old daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin tells Us Weekly that she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December, a month after she finished third on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Her face now appears thinner, with higher cheekbones and an angular jaw.

The new look, complete with Palin losing 5 pounds, was unveiled April 30 at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C.

Story: Did new-look Bristol Palin have plastic surgery?

"Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons," she told the magazine for its May 23 issue, which will be on newsstands Friday.

Palin said she had the procedure so her jaw and teeth could properly realign.

While growing up, she wore braces and a device to help correct an overbite. But she said her dentist warned her that she'd have to have surgery one day.

The Palin family's lawyer declined to comment to The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Palin said she is pleased with the new look.

"I look older, more mature and don't have as much of a chubby little baby face," she told the magazine.

Palin said she doesn't obsess over her face and would consider plastic surgery only in an extreme situation.

"I wouldn't get plastic surgery unless I got in an accident or something terrible and got disfigured," she said.

Palin will be back on TV by the end of the year, starring in a reality series for the Bio Channel. The as-yet-untitled series will follow her move from Alaska to Los Angeles with her son, Tripp, to work at a small charity. She will live with actor brothers Kyle and Christopher Massey.

Palin can also soon add author to her resume.

She signed with William Morrow to publish "Not Afraid of Life," to come out this summer. Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, has said the memoir would provide "an inside look at her life."

Levi Johnston, the father of her child, also is planning a tell-all book about his tumultuous relationship with the Palin family.

Lohan sentenced to 4 months, may not serve all

LOS ANGELES — A lawyer entered a no contest plea Wednesday for Lindsay Lohan in the theft of a necklace, setting the stage for a summer of confinement, counseling and community service.

Defense attorney Shawn Holley made the plea for the actress, who did not appear in court in the misdemeanor case involving a $2,500 necklace taken from an upscale shop in the Venice area of Los Angeles.

Lohan, 24, did not acknowledge guilt through the plea, but the court will log the case as a conviction.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to serve a 120-day jail sentence and remain on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case while she completes 480 hours of community service and undergoes psychological counseling.

The judge ordered the additional counseling after reviewing a probation report that detailed a series of relapses by Lohan, including a positive test for alcohol in February, a little more month after she was released from rehab.

The report, prepared in February, also said authorities found evidence the actress had been drinking while receiving treatment at the Betty Ford Center.

Lohan had been sent to Betty Ford for three months of treatment last year after failing a drug screen. The report indicated she had tested positive for cocaine and amphetamines during the court-mandated drug test in September.

A rehab worker at the center accused Lohan of pushing her during a confrontation over curfew in December. Lohan was not charged in the case, but police investigated claims she and some companions from rehab were drinking.

"The police report also noted that interviews with restaurant employees, hotel employees, and nightclub employees support the statements that (Lohan) drank alcohol on the night of the disturbance," the probation report states.

Holley did not return an email message seeking comment on the probation report.

A probation officer stated in the report that despite the relapses, Lohan appeared to be making progress with her treatment and should receive continued substance abuse counseling.

Harsh criticism fuels Haley's comeback on 'Idol' Rob continues march to 'Survivor' victory Trump reveals his hair care secrets 'Teen Mom' Amber loses custody of daughter

Sautner disagreed with the recommendation Wednesday, saying she didn't think Lohan had a substance abuse problem.

"She has other problems, which she self-medicates," the judge said.

In addition to counseling, community service and jail sentence, Lohan will have to complete an anti-shoplifting class.

The "Mean Girls" star was expected to serve only a fraction of the jail time due to jail overcrowding. She might be eligible for house arrest, but that decision won't be made until Lohan reports for jail on or before June 17.

If she is given house arrest, the judge said she cannot work on her community service at the same time.

"She is neither requesting nor receiving special treatment," Holley said after the hearing.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore agreed, saying Lohan has been treated the same as other nonviolent offenders.

The actress said in a written statement released by the producers of her next film that she has started fulfilling her community service requirements at a Los Angeles women's shelter.

The statement quotes Lohan as saying "I think the media spotlight should be on issues such as homelessness and domestic violence instead of me."

The "Mean Girls" star has been cast to play the wife of John Gotti Jr. in a biopic of the infamous mob family titled "Gotti: Three Generations." The film is scheduled to film later this year in New York, and several factors could keep Lohan's case from interfering with work on the film.

Last month, Sautner reduced Lohan's charge from a felony to misdemeanor. Misdemeanor defendants in criminal matters can generally have their attorneys handle all aspects of their case without appearing in court.

Lohan's lack of a serious criminal record, and the misdemeanor status of her other cases, have resulted in three jails stints that ranged from 84 minutes to a few hours.

Her longest stay was 14 days after another judge sentenced her to three months in jail. The reduced time behind bars was due to jail overcrowding and state-mandated credits for time-served.

Lohan was released after a few hours on April 22 because her attorney indicated she would appeal the four-month jail sentence for her probation violation. She dropped the appeal as part of Wednesday's plea.

The theft of the necklace came roughly three weeks after Lohan was released from a three-month stint in court-ordered rehab, and while she was still on probation for the drunken driving case.

Despite living nearby, authorities said Lohan never tried to return the necklace until it was reported stolen and police obtained a search warrant. Her assistant delivered the necklace to detectives before the warrant could be served.

‘Toxic’ avenger: Britney Spears stars in comic book

PHILADELPHIA — Britney Spears is no stranger to music buyers and concert-goers. Now, her star power will be on display with web-slingers, shape shifters and superheroes.

The pop music star is the subject of a new one-shot comic book courtesy of Bluewater Productions Inc.'s ongoing "Fame" series that has seen it profile other celebrities, including Lady Gaga and actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, among others.

The publisher has also done comic book bios of Sarah Palin, Hilary Rodham Clinton and President Barack Obama, and plans one about Donald Trump, too.

The Spears comic will focus on her rise to stardom, her documented private life and her efforts to be understood, said Patrick McCray, who wrote the issue.

"She is far more complicated than most people realize. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises," he said in a statement. "Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood."

Slideshow: From pop princess to troubled mom (on this page)

Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis said Spears' life reflected the core of the company's "Fame" line of biography titles has tried to achieve.

"She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely," he said. "The title seeks to find the person within."

The 32-page issue, illustrated by Ricardo Jaime, comes out Wednesday in comic book stores and online retailers.

'Champagne Lady' Norma Zimmer dies at 87

LOS ANGELES — Norma Zimmer, the "Champagne Lady" of TV's "The Lawrence Welk Show" and a studio singer who worked with Frank Sinatra and other pop stars, has died. She was 87.

Zimmer died peacefully Tuesday at her Brea, Calif., home, Welk's son, Larry, said Wednesday. Larry Welk didn't know the cause of death but said Zimmer had been living an active life in recent years.

"She was one of the most gracious, likable people that anyone could ever meet. The other people on the show, to this day, just respect and love her," Larry Welk said.

Zimmer performed on Welk's network and later syndicated show from 1960 to 1982 as the "Champagne Lady," the title Welk traditionally gave to his orchestra's lead female singer. Zimmer sang solos, duets with Jimmy Roberts and waltzed with Welk to the strains of his effervescent dance tunes tagged "champagne music."

She appeared on the orchestra's public TV specials that have aired (along with repeats of the series) since 1987. Zimmer took part in a tribute to Welk and his show held earlier this year at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

Welk, who stopped performing in 1989, died in 1992.

Zimmer, born in July 1923 in Larson, Idaho, grew up in Seattle. The petite blonde sang with The Girlfriends, a quartet that performed with Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby, including on Crosby's famed recording of "White Christmas."

Zimmer made several film and TV appearances, including one with Crosby in the 1950 film "Mr. Music" and in an episode of "I Love Lucy," and was the voice of the White Rose in the 1951 Disney film, "Alice in Wonderland."

Her survivors include her sons, Ron and Mark. Her husband, businessman Randy Zimmer, died in 2008.

Funeral services for Zimmer were pending.

Albert Brooks: You're all on Twitter probation

NEW YORK — Albert Brooks is a regular on Twitter, but he says his continued presence there depends on sales of his first book, "2030: The Real Story of What Happens to America."

The comedian began tweeting about six weeks ago under the username (at)AlbertBrooks to promote the novel, which was released Monday. The book is Brooks' vision of the nation's not-too-distant future. In it, the young and old are at odds, the country has its first half-Jewish president and health care costs are astronomical.

He says he wrote it in part because he thinks most futuristic novels are too unrealistic.

"Everything that talks about what's going to happen is always about Armageddon," Brooks said. "Everyone's dead. Will Smith is walking around trying to find a bird to eat."

In his novel, people are still alive but, "we're not in the world's best shape," he said. "But we're not in the world's best shape now."

Brooks acknowledges his tweets are "like a commercial" for the book but says he at least "tries to be amusing." After news broke of Osama bin Laden's death, for example, he tweeted: "Bin Laden buried at sea. Sharks thrilled. Herring, not so much."

He also has an ongoing Twitter dialogue with fellow comedian Steve Martin. In one exchange Martin wrote, "Hey Albert. I'm on second case of Chianti!" Brooks wrote back, "What are you wearing?"

Brooks says, "I never talk to Steve in real life so it was fun to sort of talk to him occasionally on Twitter. ... It's like someone who I've never really run into much in my whole life."

Brooks follows 12 people — mostly comedians — but already has more than 80,000 followers.

As for his future on Twitter, Brooks says it depends on whether followers actually buy the book.

"If they buy it, I'm going to reward them with more comedy tweeting," he said. "If they don't buy it, I am so gone."

Bethenny Frankel sued for $100 million

Reality star turned liquor mogul Bethenny Frankel has been sued by her ex-managers, who claim they helped broker her pairing with the lucrative Skinnygirl cocktail brand and were cut out of the rich deal that followed.

Los Angeles-based Raw Talent sued the "Real Housewives of New York" and "Bethenny Ever After" star today in L.A. Superior Court. Raw co-president Doug Wald alleges he met Frankel in May 2008, as she was appearing on "Real Housewives," and she expressed interest in launching her own unscripted series. He says he then helped introduce her to some agents at APA that specialize in repping reality stars.

According to the complaint, Frankel signed with APA on August 7, 2008 and also agreed orally that day to retain Wald as her personal manager and pay Raw 10 percent of her earnings (she allegedly confirmed the relationship in an email sent the next day).

Photos from THR: Inside the Kardashians' incredible empire

Wald says Frankel specifically sought out his advice because she thought the Skinnygirl cocktail was underexploited and he could help her make some money from it.

"She expressly represented that any agreement relating to the exploitation of the Skinnygirl Cocktail Brand would be commissionable under their management agreement," the complaint says.

Wald says he then helped Frankel hook up with liquor industry veteran David Kanbar, who put together a business plan for a company that would buy the brand, use Frankel's celebrity to help market it, and sell it in two years for a hefty profit.

Photos from THR: Behind the scenes of 'Glee's' most expensive finale ever

But Raw Talent says Frankel fired Wald in November 2008, days before signing her deal to develop and market Skinnygirl.

The brand has become a huge success. Seventeen months after Frankel and Kanbar went into business together, they sold the company in March in what The Hollywood Reporter called a $120 million deal.

Raw Talent now says it's owed 10% of that deal, or an estimated $12 million. Plus the company wants $100 million in punitive damages to make an example out of Frankel.

"Notwithstanding her clear and unambiguous agreement and obligation to pay Raw Talent its 10% commission, Frankel now refuses," the lawsuit says.

We've reached out to Frankel's rep for comment and will update with a response.

The suit, filed by well-known showbiz litigator Bryan Freedman and Joshua Blum, alleges causes of action for fraud, breach of oral contract and other counts.

Rihanna Does Paris

Rihanna looks like she’s doing her best to win over those finicky Parisians: she’s flashing that rack to full effect.

I think she’d be better off flaunting her ass and legs, myself, but hey, no healthy straight dude is going to look AWAY from a pair of tits in his face.

So maybe Rihanna should just keep on doing what she’s doing.

Although I must say, she must have seriously pissed off her hairdresser for that person not to advice her to get rid of that clown-red hair. Looks like shit.

Nicole Scherzinger Does GQ India

I’ve always wondered what the hell was the big deal about Nicole Scherzinger. I mean, she used to be the lead singer for the damn Pussycat Dolls. Then she went on Dancing with the Stars.

Could a chick be any more pathetic?

Well, Nicole’s photoshoot for GQ India has shown me the errors in my thinking.

This chick is HOT. Who knew she was hiding TITS and ASS like that? Not I. Sure as hell Not I.

I say get this  chick a role in a movie. One that requires nudity. Or a Cinemax late night show would work just as well.

Marissa Miller Does Esquire

Have to hand it to the guys over at Esquire: not only are they a bunch of lucky ass bastards to get to look at nearly naked HOT chicks all day, but they’re smart, too.

As this photoshoot shows, they know how to make the most of the very luscious Marissa Miller.

I mean, models may be as skinny as refugees, but LOOK at those TITS. Tell me they aren’t mouthwatering things of beauty, silicone or not.

Hell, I’m licking my lips just looking at them.

Olivia Wilde Steams Up GQ

The people who work on the show House MD should be declared INSANE to cover up the HOT Olivia Wilde in medical coats all the damn time.

What are they thinking? They could be competing with Grey’s Anatomy if they showed off Olivia’s body. At least, I know I’d watch. Or at least DVR it.

Well, the good people at GQ got it right, showing off Olivia to her full advantage. Tell me you aren’t imagining how sexy an all-wet Olivia (wearing nothing but a bikini- or LESS- looks under the water in that one head shot in the thumbnails).

You know you’re lying if you deny it.

Candice Swanepoel Earns Her Paycheck

Here’s Candice Swanepoel doing what she does best: showing off that HOT body of hers for Victoria’s Secret. Admit it: one of the best things about having a girlfriend (besides the regular sex) is the easy access to Victoria’s Secret catalogs.

Hell, I never said you should share that with her, but you know it’s the truth.

Candice sure as hell has earned her wings. And who knows, maybe you even feel inspired enough to buy one or two of the pieces for your lady to wear?

(But don’t share the inspiration with her, either. She never needs to know.)

Vanessa Hudgens Shows Off Her Shape

Have you seen Sucker Punch? It’s supposed to have a ton of cool action sequences (complete with special effects) and includes chicks in tight clothes kicking ass.

It’s also supposed to make NO damn sense whatsoever, but you can’t have everything, right?

Vanessa Hudgens, one of the stars of the movie, told Shape magazine how she got into shape for the role.

Imagine getting to look at THIS body blown up on a big IMAX screen. I can practically SEE the theater seats filling up.

I might just have to enjoy the images: Vanessa’s hot and all, but I can probably get just as good entertainment at home. With Shape.

Aguilera: I 'can laugh' about messy personal life

Christina Aguilera is the first one to admit that she's had a rocky few months.

The singer — who, within one month's time, flubbed the National Anthem during the Super Bowl, collapsed onstage at the Grammy Awards and was jailed for public intoxication — says she's ready to turn things around.PHOTOS: Biggest star meltdowns

"In light of the past year, there have been obvious setbacks," she told UsMagazine.com on Monday. "I've gone through a really hard divorce, and anyone who has gone through a divorce will speak about how hard the journey is from start to finish."

"It's a life-uprooting time and there have been hiccups along the way that unfortunately the whole world gets to witness and judge," she added.PHOTOS: How her image has changed over the years

The 30-year-old pop star — and mom to 3-year-old Max, her son with ex Jordan Bratman — said her recent slip-ups have been a blessing in disguise.

"I can laugh about my own hiccups and my own experiences in life because I'm getting through it," Aguilera said. "But I get to share these experiences with these people and I get to say not every performance day is going to be a great day."PHOTOS: Relive Christina and Jordan's romance

"Sometimes you could be having the worst day of your life and you have to get up on that stage and you have to give to your fans in a way that they would never know the difference," she continued. "You have to lose yourself in that moment and you have to be so involved. Take yourself out of your own headspace or use whatever you're going through and put it into the passion of your song."

Aguilera said she plans to use her recent experiences to mentor contestants on NBC's "The Voice," where she'll coach aspiring singers alongside BlakeShelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.VIDEO: Christina's Grammy Awards slip-up

"There have been things that have happened on stage that any performer can absolutely relate to and I'm so happy that I get to share these moments with them in such an intimate environment," she explained.

PHOTOS: Christina's sexy video style

"I'm actually revealing a lot about myself during this show — a side of myself that I think a lot of people have never seen before, that only my closest friends see when the cameras go off," Aguilera said. "I just wanted to approach this show very openly. I'm human, too, and people make mistakes and go through things in life and I'm definitely taking that into the show."

Meet the New Wonder Woman

This is my first time looking at the new Wonder Woman. The actress’ name is Adrienne Palicki, and you’ve gotta have some sympathy for the chick: stepping into Lynda Carter’s shapely boots can’t be easy.

But Adrienne’s got curves of her own. Her cup definitely runneth over in her Wonder Woman costume. But… okay, I was hoping the cup might be a little larger.

So sue the shit out of my superficial ass.

Yet this is still promising. Very, very promising. A cup that runneth over is a cup that runneth over. And she sure as hell is a generous handful, at least.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for this.

Royal finances: Will Kate be signing a prenup? (AP)

LONDON – British divorce lawyers have words of warning for Prince William: Not all fairy tales have happy endings.

The prince is set to wed his longtime love Kate Middleton on April 29, but if history is any guide, divorce lawyers say the second-in-line to the British throne would be well advised to sign a prenuptial agreement.

"It's an absolute statistical no-brainer that a prenuptial agreement would be highly beneficial in this case," said divorce lawyer James Stewart from the firm Manches, which handled the multimillion divorce case between Madonna and director Guy Ritchie.

Britain's royal family has been plagued by a string of failed marriages. Three of Queen Elizabeth II's four children have been divorced, and William's uncle on his mother's side, Charles Spencer, has two ex-wives.

Prince William's office declined to comment on whether the future king might sign a premarital contract.

Although prenuptial agreements are common in the United States, in Britain they remain rare for most couples — never mind the royal family. British courts agreed to recognize such deals only in the last year after a slew of high-profile divorce awards gave London a reputation as the "divorce capital of the world."

Stewart said Britain's royals need to recognize that when it comes to divorce, they're just like commoners under U.K. law. And with large amounts of royal wealth most likely tied up in trusts, which can be hard to get access to, it's important to hammer out the details now just in case, he says.

"In the 21st century, there is a real need for any couple in the public arena to enter into a properly drawn up prenup," Stewart said.

One need look no further than the very ugly — and public — split between William's parents, Princess Diana and Prince Charles. The prince's former financial adviser, Geoffrey Bignell, told Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper in 2004 that Diana "took him to the cleaners," and claimed that Charles handed over his entire personal fortune — widely reported to be more than 17 million pounds ($27 million today) — when their marriage ended after 15 years in 1996.

But it is by no means certain an ex-wife will clean up. Following her 1996 divorce from Prince Andrew after 10 years of marriage, Sarah Ferguson complained that her reported 800,000-pound ($1.3 million today) settlement was meager. Years later, she is believed to have hired Diana's attorney to negotiate a much bigger divorce settlement after dealing with crushing debt.

But even that history doesn't mean the royals will think twice: Charles is widely reported to have ignored legal advice and opted to go without a prenup when he wed his second wife, Camilla, in 2005.

While some say it's tacky to talk about divorce at such a happy time as a wedding, doing so is a necessary evil, said Matthew Brunsdon Tully, a professor of family law at the London School of Economics and practicing divorce attorney.

Divorce can be costly, time-consuming, stressful and public — all symptoms that a prenup can help alleviate, giving a sense of security to both sides, he said.

"A prenup might be seen as anathema to the idea that the marriage vow is supposed to be for life ... but you can't ignore the statistics," said Brunsdon Tully. With divorce rates at all-time highs "it's probably prudent of people to at least consider what might happen."

So what's at stake?

William stands to gain an inheritance from the queen, whose fortune was recently estimated at around 290 million pounds ($467 million) by the Sunday Times 2010 "Rich List." The second-in-line to the British throne also got a share of his mother Diana's nearly $34 million estate — the bulk of which came from her divorce settlement, but it is believed much of his money is tied up in trusts.

Middleton comes from a well-off family herself but any agreement would need to ensure she is looked after, keeping up her homes and her standard of living, experts said. It would most likely be generous to ensure the prenup is not challenged as unfair after a divorce.

"They would want to make sure that things are done by the book to keep it out of the public arena," said Brunsdon Tully.

A confidentiality clause also would be a must, Stewart added, noting that "the last thing this family would want" would be a scintillating interview — akin to one given by Diana just before the divorce — that exposes the royal family's inner workings.

"Kate is joining a family known as 'The Firm,' and every other employee of the royal household has a contract of employment which includes a fairly severe gagging clause," Stewart noted.

Other European royals have signed prenups. Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria signed a prenuptial agreement with her husband and former personal trainer Daniel Westling that says that he would only be entitled to half of the couple's private household possessions in a divorce — not Victoria's inheritance or her income.

Despite any alleged advantages, London-based celebrity divorce lawyer Raymond Tooth isn't convinced William and Middleton will sign a contingency plan. He noted that they have known each other for a long time, saying "it's not a whirlwind recent romance" at risk of suddenly falling apart.

Besides, Tooth thinks if a deal was signed, there would be rumors by now.

"It would have leaked out if there was one," Tooth said. "Nothing is secret anymore."

Taboo

TabooIt sounds so simple: get your team to name common words without voicing a few choice descriptors. But could you describe a wristwatch without mentioning time, wrist, or clock? Taboo rewards those who think--and speak--fast. The team that correctly identifies as many words as possible in a minute (measured with an hourglass timer) wins. If a member of the opposing team, armed with the blaring buzzer, catches the clue giver using any of the taboo words, a point is deducted from the group's score. It's a good idea to separate people who know each other well, because their familiarity can be too great an advantage. If the clue is spinach, prompting with "Mom made this every Monday" just doesn't seem fair, though it is permissible according to the rules. Playing Taboo requires an AA battery and a sense of humor--you'll need them both! The timer is included. Taboo is for four or more players. --Leah Ball

Depp, Cyrus win but avoid slime at Kids' Choice

LOS ANGELES — Johnny Depp showed his appreciation for his Kids' Choice Award with a sliming.

After earning the blimp-shaped favorite movie actor trophy for his Mad Hatter role in "Alice in Wonderland," Depp manned a hose and unleashed waves of green goop on the screaming crowd of more than 10,000 kids — and a few adults.

"You guys are the future," he said Saturday before spraying the slime inside University of Southern California's Galen Center. "Take good care of us."

Slideshow: Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2011 (on this page) Don't miss these Entertainment stories C'mon, 'Losers'! Quit gaining and complaining There’s a big difference between trying and failing, and trying to fail, which is just what a bunch of “Losers” have done lately. And it's frustrating to watch them blow this big opportunity.

Whoops! Kirstie Alley takes a tumble on 'DWTS' 'Glee' creator regrets his Kings of Leon outburst 'Game of Thrones' writer fears 'Lost'-like ending Sheen spoofs himself in a new online video

The screaming mob at Nickelodeon's 24th annual fan-favorite ceremony later revolted by flicking the goo at "Modern Family" co-star Rico Rodriguez and "Arthur" leading man Russell Brand as they presented Eddie Murphy with the award for favorite voice from an animated movie for his role in "Shrek Forever After."

Rodriguez and Brand struggled to recite their introduction as the green stuff was slung at them.

"Johnny, I wish you'd drowned them!" screeched Brand.

Jack Black, the zany master of ceremonies, kicked off the silly show by arriving in a monster truck, performing a flash mob-style routine on the orange carpet, then dancing alongside the Black Eyed Peas, who crooned a medley of their tunes while sporting outfits made of colorful blocks. He announced that more than 200 million votes were cast for the show.

Other winners included "The Karate Kid" for movie, "The Karate Kid" co-star Jackie Chan for butt-kicker, "Despicable Me" for animated movie, "iCarly" for TV show, "Wizards of Waverly Place" star Selena Gomez for TV actress, "The Suite Life on Deck" co-star Dylan Sprouse for TV actor, "iCarly" co-star Jennette McCurdy for TV sidekick, "American Idol" for reality TV show, "SpongeBob SquarePants" for cartoon and "Just Dance 2" for video game.

"Thanks for voting until your fingers were sore," screamed McCurdy. "Grandma, that's you!"

In the music categories, the winners of blimp-shaped trophies were the Black Eyed Peas for music group, Katy Perry for female singer and Justin Bieber for male singer and song for "Baby." The favorites in the sports categories were two-time Olympic gold medalist ski racer Lindsey Vonn and Boston Celtics basketball center Shaquille O'Neal.

Several celebrities received their own sliming. Heidi Klum was blasted with goop from an envelope. Jane Lynch delivered a slime slushie to Jason Segel, while Snoop Dogg was doused after performing with boy band Big Time Rush.

Josh Duhamel, who dressed up as an absentee Bieber, was inducted into the Arm Fart Hall of Fame and crowned in a slime throne.

Miley Cyrus, who was honored as favorite movie actress for "The Last Song," missed the green goo.

"Thank you for not sliming me," she said.

Justin Timberlake was awarded the show's silver Big Help trophy for his environmental and charitable work. He encouraged the audience to stand and scream if they've ever been helpful in their lives and encouraged children to listen to their parents.

Past winners of the humanitarian honor have included Leonardo DiCaprio and first lady Michelle Obama.

Flight of the Navigator

Flight of the NavigatorDisney's 1986 Flight of the Navigator combines a strong ensemble cast and classic '80s soundtrack with dazzling special effects for a high-flying sci-fi adventure. While searching for his little brother in the woods, 12-year-old David Freeman (Joey Cramer) falls down a ravine and is knocked unconscious. After what seems like minutes, he returns home, only to discover that eight years have passed since he was declared missing and presumed dead. Even more mystifying is that David hasn't aged, nor can he account for the time lapse. Meanwhile, NASA officials stumble upon a futuristic spacecraft and are determined to assess what David knows about it by locking him in a top-secret lab for scanning and testing. His only chance of escape is in the spacecraft manned by Max, a wisecracking robot. Cramer gives an earnest performance, which overcomes an imperfect script, while enough one-liners and imaginative animation will keep families engaged. Watch for Sarah Jessica Parker in one of her first film appearances. Rated PG for language. (Ages 6 and older) --Lynn Gibson

PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) – Singer Michel Martelly, a shaven-headed political outsider with no previous government experience, won Haiti's presidential election in a landslide victory that tapped into deep popular desire for change in the poor, earthquake-battered Caribbean state.

Preliminary results announced by the Provisional Electoral Council on Monday gave the 50-year-old entertainer a clear win with nearly 68 percent of the vote, compared with just under 32 percent for his rival, former first lady Mirlande Manigat.

Celebrations erupted in the scruffy capital Port-au-Prince as cheering, jubilant Martelly supporters flooded the streets, singing, waving his portrait and setting off fireworks.

Martelly thanked voters in a brief statement on his Twitter account: "We'll work for all Haitians. Together we can do it."

Tense anticipation tinged with fears of violence had led up to the announcement of the results from the March 20 run-off, the first second-round presidential vote ever held in the politically volatile nation, one of the world's poorest.

"Sweet Micky" Martelly, an iconoclastic entertainer known for his sometimes provocative stage acts, had campaigned on a forceful promise to change the status quo, pledging to break with decades of past corruption and misrule and bring a better life to Haitians struggling to recover from a devastating 2010 earthquake.

"Martelly's victory implies a rejection of the political class that has both governed and been in the opposition," said Robert Fatton, Jr., a Haiti expert and professor in the University of Virginia's Department of Politics.

"Martelly captured the mood of the voters by cleverly using his 'bad boy' image to enhance his status as the ultimate 'outsider' who symbolized change," he told Reuters.

As president, Martelly will face the huge challenge of trying to rebuild a small Caribbean country prostrated in poverty long before an earthquake killed more than 300,000 people and bludgeoned its fragile economy last year. Hundreds of thousands of destitute earthquake victims are still living in squalid tent and tarpaulin camps.

The results are preliminary because they can be subjected to legal challenges which must be dealt with by the electoral council before it can declare them definitive later in April.

To prevent trouble before and after the results were announced, blue-helmeted U.N. peacekeepers were out patrolling Port-au-Prince and other potential flashpoints. Some stores boarded up windows in anticipation of trouble.

'LITTLE ROOM TO MANEUVER'

The United Nations and donor governments including the United States, which have pledged billions of dollars in reconstruction funds to Haiti, want the election to produce a stable, legitimate leadership to take charge of the recovery.

The elections are choosing a successor to outgoing President Rene Preval and also new members of the parliament.

The University of Virginia's Fatton said Haiti's heavy dependence on foreign assistance to tackle the huge challenge of post-quake recovery could limit Martelly's ability to radically transform Haiti's economic and political system.

"He will have to deal with the reality that he will have little room to maneuver as Haiti's sovereignty is at bay and ... for good or ill he will be thoroughly dependent on outside financial assistance," Fatton said.

"The question for Martelly is whether he can renegotiate

Haiti's dependence on better terms," he added.

After a chaotic first round of elections on November 28 marred by unrest and fraud allegations, the run-off last month passed off generally peacefully.

But in a country where calm streets can become transformed in seconds into battlegrounds of protesters and flaming tires, rumors had been swirling about threats to "burn the nation" and about machetes -- the long, curved cutlasses that are a traditional weapon of Haitians -- selling out at stores.

The international community has worked to keep the Haitian elections on track through its U.N. peacekeeping mission and electoral observers and experts from the OAS and Caricom.

Backed by diplomatic pressure from Washington, these experts persuaded Haitian authorities to revise the disputed first round results to put Martelly -- originally placed third -- in the March run-off with Manigat, at the expense of a government-backed candidate dropped due to alleged fraud.

"I think what the international community wants is basically political stability," Fatton said.

With the INITE party of outgoing President Preval expected to remain strong in parliament, the new Haitian leader will also have to manage a fractious political situation.

This has been stirred up further by the separate return from exile this year of two former presidents, both previously ousted by revolts -- left-wing populist Jean-Bertrand Aristide and former dictator Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier.

Ready To Party With J-Woww?

J-Woww hosted a party in (where else?) VEGAS, baby! I bet that was one HOT club to get into.

J-Woww knows what to do: prop those tits ups and milk those babies for all they’re worth. Hell, I don’t blame her: those tits didn’t pay for themselves, you know.

And who the hell can act crazier than Snooki? Well, perhaps Deena Cortese on a good day, but I think J-Woww has a winning strategy of her own: let THEM be the batshit crazy chicks while she’s the HOT chick of Jersey Shore.

Guess who any of us (with half a brain) would wanna party with?

Yep, party on, J-Woww, and keep those bucks coming in. Who knows: those tits may need some maintenance in the years to come.

Sheen spoofs himself in a new online video

NEW YORK — Actor Charlie Sheen is spoofing an infamous TV appearance in a new online video.

Uploaded to YouTube over the weekend, the seven-minute parody intercuts his newly taped responses with questions posed by ABC News correspondent Andrea Canning in the widely viewed interview that aired last month.

As Canning is seen repeatedly asking Sheen if he's on drugs and when he last used them, the former "Two and a Half Men" star makes fun of his various catch phrases, his many slogan-embossed T-shirts and his nicotine habit. At one point, he poses with cigarettes jamming his nostrils and both ears.

The wacky video had been viewed more than 140,000 times by Monday afternoon. (Warning: Video clip contains adult language.)

Sheen began a multi-city concert tour Saturday. He'll appear in Cleveland on Tuesday.

Tech entrepreneur Sean Parker gets engaged to singer (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Technology entrepreneur Sean Parker, a co-founder of Napster and the founding president of Facebook, has become engaged, his spokesman said on Monday.

Parker proposed to girlfriend Alexandra Lenas, a singer-songwriter, said his representative Matthew Hiltzik.

Justin Timberlake played Parker as a hard-partying ladies man in last year's Oscar nominated movie "The Social Network," about Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg's creation of Facebook.

Parker has dismissed the way he was portrayed in the film as fiction. He left Facebook in 2005 and is now a managing partner at the venture capital firm Founders Fund.

Aside from his time at Facebook, Parker is also known for co-founding Napster in 1999 when he was 19 years-old.

Napster caused anguish in the music industry by allowing free peer-to-peer file sharing of songs, and it was shut down by court order in 2001 over copyright infringement claims.

It has since been revived as a subscription music streaming service, but the company is now run by Best Buy, not Parker.
